Identity, Words, and Creative Authority (Proverbs 18:21)

How we speak about ourselves is not harmless. Words don’t simply describe our reality—they shape it. We were made in the image of God, and Scripture introduces God first as a speaker, not a builder. Before there was light, form, or order—there was a voice.
“And God said…”Creation responded.
That means when we speak, we are doing more than talking—we are participating in creation. Our words carry authority because we bear His image. Every sentence is an echo of “let there be.” What we say about ourselves authorizes what is allowed to exist within us.
When we repeatedly speak fear, limitation, shame, or defeat, we give those things permission to settle in our identity. We don’t just experience them—we host them.
But when our words align with truth, something shifts. Life begins to rise. Identity starts to realign. The atmosphere within us changes. This is why Scripture is so direct: death and life are in the power of the tongue. Not metaphorically. Not poetically. But practically. We will eat the fruit of what we have been saying. February is an invitation to listen—not just to what you hear, but to what you’ve been speaking. Because every word is a seed. And every seed eventually produces fruit.

Declaration:
Commit to a 21-day journey of transformation. By speaking declarations over your life this month. You aren't just creating a habit - you are uncovering your authentic self. Let your truest self emerge.
I am created in the image of God.
My words carry weight.
I refuse to speak what God has not spoken over me.
I silence every agreement with death, limitation, fear, and false identity.
I choose life.
I choose truth.
I choose alignment.
What I declare, I authorize. What I speak, I plant.
Today, I speak life—over my mind, over my body, over my purpose, over my future.
Let there be light. And let it begin with me.
